When I was 15 years old I had a hunger inside of me to learn how to play the guitar. A lady at my church gave me one of her old guitars so I could learn to play. I was appreciative of the gift, but there was one small problem with the guitar… the tuning key for the bottom E string was broken, so that string could not be properly tuned. Did I let that hinder me from learning to play the guitar? No! I just tuned all of the other strings to the one string that couldn’t be tightened or loosened. The guitar was “in tune”… just not in “perfect” tune. The hunger to succeed got me past the imperfection I was dealing with.

Ecclesiastes 11:4, in the New Century Version of the Bible, says: “Those who wait for perfect weather will never plant seeds.” How true! When Adam and Eve sinned it threw the whole world into a state of IMPERFECTION. Nothing here on Earth is perfect… no person, no situation, no organization, no product, no government, etc., etc. We are continually having to deal with imperfections in this life. Nothing, NOT ONE THING, will get done here on earth if you’re waiting for things to be perfect first.

The good news is that we’re all on a level playing field due to this fact. Everyone who has ever succeeded at anything did it by overcoming an imperfect situation. Sure, there are varying levels of imperfection… some things have fewer imperfections so we call them “EASY”, while other things have more imperfections so we call them “DIFFICULT.” Still, when all is said and done an imperfection has to be conquered, one way or the other, in order to get things accomplished.

So, keep on pushing through the imperfections you face, and put your trust in the perfect God who delights in taking imperfect situations and changing them. After all, a “miracle” is just an imperfect situation that has been touched by a perfect God.
