Just for a moment, let’s not talk about all the things that God permits or the things He overlooks about us because of His great love for us. Let’s not talk about how far away from His original plan we can deviate and still remain within the boundaries of His love and mercy. People always want to know where the boundaries and the borders are. But just for a moment lets talk about getting as far from the borders and boundaries as possible… let’s talk about finding the core… the center of God’s heart.
People want to know, “Does God love gay people, does God love adulterers, does God love thieves, does God love pedophiles, etc.?” The answer is unquestionably YES! He loves all of humanity, so much so that He gave His only Son to die for all of us to eradicate our sins. Let that be forever settled in our minds. BUT, another question needs to be asked: “What is God looking for in a man or woman?” After all, the scripture says that the eyes of Lord search “throughout the earth that He may strongly support those whose heart is completely His.” (2 Chronicles 16:9) Are we really only interested in knowing if God loves us? Don’t we also want to know that God is STRONGLY SUPPORTING us… that His eyes keep landing on us as He searches the Earth to find someone whose heart is completely HIS?
This is not about “living on the border of God’s Love.” It’s about finding His heart, and moving as close to it as possible. It’s about being pleasing to Him. Yes, it is settled. God loves all humanity with great compassion and mercy, but are men seeking to please Him and discover His Heart and His Truths? Or, do they just want to know where the boundary lines are so they can get as far away from His heart as possible and still say that they REMAIN IN HIS LOVE?
