If you like doing a little detective work then you might enjoy this. I was reading my Bible one morning and came across a scripture reference about a woman named Mary who was a follower of Jesus. I don’t usually go off on tangents, but I noticed something this particular morning that I had never noticed before, and this sent me on a little “rabbit trail.” Sure enough, when I got through with my “rabbit trail” I had made an interesting discovery. I had discovered MARY’S FAVORITE PLACE. See if you can find Mary’s Favorite Place as you read these three scripture references that mention her name specifically:
1.) Luke 10:38-39 (NAS) – Now as they were traveling along, He [Jesus] entered a certain village; and a woman named Martha welcomed Him into her home. And she had a sister called Mary, who moreover was listening to the Lord’s word, seated at His feet.
2.) John 11:32 (NAS) – [At the tomb of Lazarus] Therefore, when Mary came where Jesus was, she saw Him and fell at His feet, saying to Him, “Lord, if You had been here, my brother would not have died.”
3.) John 12:3 (NAS) – Mary then took a pound of very costly perfume of pure nard, and anointed the feet of Jesus, and wiped His feet with her hair;
Have you discovered Mary’s Favorite Place? Interestingly enough, almost every single time this woman is mentioned in the scriptures she’s located in the same place… a place where you and I should visit more frequently.
Matthew 28:8-9 (NAS)
And they left the tomb quickly with fear and great joy and ran to report it to His disciples. And behold, Jesus met them and greeted them. And they came up and took hold of HIS FEET and worshiped Him.
