SCIENTIFIC EXPERIMENT:

In a well-lit room, stare at a single object for several minutes. Then close your eyes for several seconds. Something interesting happens…the image you just stared at for a prolonged period of time will appear as a negative image upon the darkness of your closed eyelids. The reason? When you stare at something for a prolonged period of time the image gets “burned” into your retina. So, even when you’re no longer looking at the object it can still be seen, even when your eyes are closed.

SPIRITUAL EXPERIMENT:

In a very dark world, focus on the things that are good, bright and happy. Do it for minutes and hours at a time. Then, when you close your eyes at night, you will see and experience the good things you focused on throughout the day. That’s because a continual focus on all that’s good and right gets “burned” into your soul and spirit, and can still be seen even when your eyes are closed.

(NOTE: Completely opposite results can be achieved simply by focusing on all that is bad, evil and negative in our world. But who wants to go to bed at night and see images of evil and negative things all night long… that’s just crazy… isn’t it?)

My Confession for Today:

I will focus on the good that is around me. I choose to look at the things that are positive in life. I know that negative exists, but it will not steal my focus from the good and positive things that God has placed in my life!

Philippians 4:8

“Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy–meditate on these things.”
