One billion …. that’s 1,000,000,000 … it’s an awfully big number. How big is it? Well, it would take approximately 31 years to count from one to one billion (giving one second to count each number along the way). Now, there are 8 billion people living on planet Earth right now. So, it would take 8×31 (248) years to count each and every individual on Earth … WOW! 248 years! So, think about this … Jesus said, “Even the very hairs of your head are all numbered.” So, God is not only aware of, and working on the behalf of, 8 billion people simultaneously (every single day) He is also keeping a count of the number of hairs on their head (the most minute detail of a person’s life).
Sounds like a mighty big task! How can God do it? It seems impossible! But, that’s what makes Him God. To be honest, I don’t want to serve a God that I can figure out by using my finite understanding of things. I hate to say it, but the things that we “figure out” in life are the things that we eventually take for granted. No chance of that happening with our God! So, to my 8 billion Earthmates I just wanted to let you know … “God is COUNTING on you!” (Pun intended)
