I sent some design work to one of my customers one day, and in my lengthy email to him I asked 4 specific questions. A few hours later I received a reply email. The email contained just one word… YES. I thought to myself, “Now what is he saying YES to? To which of my 4 questions does that word apply? I looked back over the email I sent him and read my 4 questions again. It was then I realized the answer was YES to all of the questions. Why say the same word 4 times when once is sufficient? A smile came to my face when I realized the clever way my customer had responded to all of my questions. He wasn’t being rude, or short with me… he was just being succinct and to the point.
My customer’s response reminded me of one of my favorite scripture verses: “For all the promises of God in him are YES, and in him Amen, to the glory of God by us.” (2 Corinthians 1:20 – American King James Version). Ask God any question you want to about His love, His forgiveness and His care for you… I can guarantee you what His response will be. “Does God love me? Does God forgive me when I do wrong? Does God want to heal me? Does God want to bless me?” Just one word answers all of those questions … YES!
P.S. … Just one last thought added to today’s message … the Hebrew name for Jesus is YES-hua. YES, Jesus loves me, the Bible tells me so!
