In Psalm 121 the psalmist wrote, “I lift up my eyes to THE HILLS – where does my HELP come from?” That’s a very good question we should all ask ourselves from time to time during our lives…”WHERE DOES MY HELP COME FROM?”

If this Psalm were written today, it could just as easily say, “I lift up my eyes to CAPITOL HILL” since so many people look to government and politics for their HELP.

It might have also been written, “I lift up my eyes to BEVERLY HILLS” since so many seem to think that movie stars and Hollywood have some type of HELP to offer our society.

If re-written today, it might also have said, “I lift up my eyes to BLUEBERRY HILL” (in the past, down Memory Lane where we once “found our thrills”) since many people try to find HELP by trying to recapture past experiences.

If Capitol Hill never did another thing to help me as an individual I’d be okay … my HELP does not come from Capitol Hill!

If Beverly Hills never put out another movie star and there were no more “beautiful” people left to inspire us to be plastic and fake, I’d be okay … my HELP does not come from Beverly Hills!

If Blueberry Hill, with its fond recollections of “the good ol’ days” faded from my memory, I’d be okay … my HELP does not come from “Blueberry Hill!”

Psalm 121:2 goes on to say “My help comes from the LORD, THE MAKER OF HEAVEN AND EARTH.” My MAKER, the One who created me, offers me all the HELP I need. So, I chose to go “To the Hill of the Lord!”

Psalm 24:3-4
Who may ascend into the hill of the Lord? Or who may stand in His holy place? He who has clean hands and a pure heart, who has not lifted up his soul to an idol, nor sworn deceitfully.
