I talked to a guy who kicked a five-year addiction to cocaine. When I asked him how he did it, I suppose I expected him to tell me some intense story of months in rehab, of pain and agony, of fortitude and willpower or maybe even some kind of miraculous intervention from Heaven. But, it was nothing like that at all.
He said that one day his drug dealer (the same dealer he’d been using for years) pulled up in a brand new car to deliver his drugs. When this guy saw the new car his dealer was driving, he pointed to the car and said, “I bought that car for you!” The realization that his drug dealer was driving a new car “paid for by his drug money” while he was driving a jalopy was all the revelation he needed to break free from his addiction. He said, “I haven’t used cocaine again since that day.”
Some people need to hear thunder and see lightning in order to bring change to their lives … some just need a glimpse of the thief that’s robbing them blind!
John 10:10
“The thief comes to steal, kill and destroy. I have come that they might have life, and have it more abundantly.”
